The Quality Assurance position performs, under direct supervision and guidance of the manager, best practices in testing of software and systems.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Planning the solution by developing test plans, test scenarios, estimates and schedule technically validating solution designs under supervision
  • Supporting the development of the solution by reviewing/defining and executing unit tests
  • Defining detailed quality metrics
  • Defining test cases with actual inputs and expected results
  • Building/maintaining a ‘staging/test’ environment
  • Capturing and reporting on quality metrics
  • Stabilizing the solution through test case execution, ensuring the solution meets business requirements
  • Performing user acceptance testing
  • Capturing and reporting on quality metrics
  • Triaging issues
  • Support deployment stabilization through execution of end-to-end testing

 

Required Skills:

  • Knowledge of Software Quality Assurance best practices.
  • Knowledge of industry standard Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Knowledge of Software Development methodologies.
  • Currently enrolled in a college program, pursuing a four-year degree in software engineering, computer science, or computer engineering or a recent graduate of a similar program.
  • Strong business technology aptitude.
  • Ability to provide high-quality work, within the dynamic nature of technology environments today.
  • Has novice to average technical knowledge.
  • Capable of working across multiple environments and platforms under supervision.
  • Dependable and reliable, with strong teamwork skills.
  • Good interpersonal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated skills in relevant technologies/methodologies:
    • Familiarity with MS Office Tools - - Word, Excel, Visio
  • Knowledge of Internet software operations, products, and services.
  • Attention to detail a plus

 

Desired Skills:

  • Demonstrated skills in relevant technologies/methodologies:
    • Familiarity with Team Foundation Server (TFS).
    • Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, etc.
    • Understanding of programming languages (C#, .net) a plus.
  • Experience with real time and distributed applications a plus.
  • Relevant work-study and internship experience a plus.
